On Both Sides
On Both Sides is a short film project that shares stories of people directly impacted by mass incarceration and street violence who advocate for healing in our communities instead of more imprisonment. Through the sharing of these stories, we hope to encourage and empower lawmakers and the general public to end ‘death by incarceration’ sentences and direct support to those harmed by violence. We want to bring people serving these sentences home, but we also want to make sure that folks who have lost loved ones to violence can find healing. The film will feature several narrators who have lost loved ones to incarceration and violence in their neighborhoods.
