Some officials like to speak about ‘rehabilitation’ for those who are incarcerated, but our criminal justice system is based on punishment and control. Between probation, parole and prisons, Pennsylvania has the second highest rate of people caught up in mass incarceration in the country.

At this event, people from impacted communities and allied organizations will talk about the fight to break free. Many people who are serving long term and life sentences in PA prisons have turned their lives around. Many people caught up on the treadmill of supervision need to be able to get on with their lives.

This forum is presented by the PA Justice Alliance, a statewide coalition that Amistad Law Project co-founded. At this forum learn about the PA Justice Alliance and struggles to limit probation, win parole review for lifers and create pathways home through the Board of Pardons. When people are reunited with their families and empowered to live their lives our communities are stronger!

Register for the event here.

Presented by the PA Justice Alliance: ACLU of Pennsylvania, Abolitionist Law Center, Amistad Law Project, CADBI, Decarcerate PA, Free The Ballot, Keystone Decarceration Bloc, Movement Alliance Project, 1Hood Power, Straight Ahead Organization, Reclaim Philadelphia and YASP.
